Máiréad Ní Chróinín
Theatre Maker, Game Designer, Technophile
I make theatre – analog and digital.
I’m co-director of Moonfish Theatre, based in Galway, Ireland – www.moonfishtheatre.com
Currently, I’m carrying out PhD research on theatre performance and mobile digital technology through the Digital Arts and Humanities PhD programme of NUI Galway. My research draws on my work on pervasive and interactive theatre, which I undertook as Theatre Artist in Residence at Nuns Island Theatre, Galway, supported by the Irish Arts Council.
To read more about the projects I’ve created, watch videos of talks I’ve given, or find out about my PhD research so far, browse through the header menu. You can contact me using the contact page.
I live in Galway, on the West coast of Ireland, where I enjoy walking by the sea, meeting friends at our local, listening to the man in my life play music around the house, and gardening (my secret addiction).
I also like watching movies, reading crime, sailing, eating out, and – when I have time – cooking.
In case you’re wondering how to pronounce my name, it rhymes with ‘parade’ – (M)arade. Don’t worry about the surname!
